What is MedCount?
Medcount is a mobile application that keeps a detailed record of the time and dates at which someone takes a medication. It also allows the user to randomly document that they have the correct amount of medication left in a prescription, further showing they are taking the medication as prescribed.
How will my doctor or counselor be able to see my medication log?
Medication logs can be seen by looking at the app itself or by having the app email a simple report.
Is someone asking me to use this app because they don't trust me?
People have difficulty following medication schedules for many reasons. Some medications effect the brain in some people in a particular way that makes them harder to take as prescribed. MedCount may help with that. Some people miss doses of medications just because they forget. MedCount may also help with that.
Does the app keep my information private?
The app doesn't store information outside of the device on which it is being used until a report is sent. In this case, please be sure to only email the report to and from a HIPAA compliant email system. Also be sure to keep your devices as secure as possible with antivirus software, password protection, etc. Please see the privacy policy for more information.
